This weekend the American football league, the NFL, finished its 10th annual season in London, with the Minnesota Vikings defeating the Cleveland Browns at Twickenham. The National Football League in London has seen a rise in popularity with a growing international fan base.
It's Volunteers Week here in London and initiatives across the city are urging people to get involved. One group that's taking part, called the GoodGym, combines fitness with doing good deeds. Volunteers for the group run, help with a local project and then run back.
Some women are angry about recent attacks on certain female jobs after the Professional Darts Corporation ditched their Dart girls. Formula 1 also banned all Grid Girls saying that the practice is at odds with modern-day societal norms. Now some are questioning whether or not cheerleading is a dated practice. But the London Cheerleaders are fighting back against this newest round of attacks.
The London Borough of Culture award is up for bid and communities around London are jumping at this opportunity. The winner of the bid will receive substantial funding towards art and culture projects for their boroughs.
